DIGITAL LITERACY<\/h2>\n

Children in rural and under-resourced areas in Kenya typically do not have access to basic computer skills development opportunities from an early age. In a world where power is increasingly held by those who hold the \u201cdigital reins,\u201d this disadvantage serves to dramatically widen the gap between \u201cthe haves\u201d and the \u201chave-nots\u201d. Without practical innovative skills, children and teens are ill-prepared for tertiary education or other vocational possibilities. This disadvantage could trap them in a cycle of poverty, and could also increase risk of child marriage, susceptibility to trafficking, child labour, gang involvement, inclusive of other potentially negative and damaging <\/span>outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through this initiative, we strive to create comprehensive learning opportunities for most at risk and vulnerable boys and girls in our project sites. We will help children become wise \u201cdigital citizens\u201d, prepared for further education, vocational training, or trade.
