COMMUNITY SAFETY NETS

Community safety nets project targets and funds vulnerable households to help them manage their daily needs. Through social accountability, children, adolescents, families and the communities are empowered to be more active in demanding and creating safe spaces through community dialogue sessions that bring together the community to improve communication, synergy and service provision.

ACLAD enhances community safety nets through…

“Kivuko” (Stepping Stones), a participatory approach which facilitates an individual’s exploration of important personal, psychological and social aspects, analyzing his or her personal attitude, perception and behavior, making self discoveries, discerning the existing options and enabling him or her to practice ways of change for desirable results. The whole process involves working with peer groups for a period of 3 to 6 months in a safe and conducive environment that enables them to share their lived experiences.
