Meet the team: Catherine, Communications and Research Operations Officer.

Hi, my name is Catherine Muteithia. At ACLAD, I serve as the Communications and Research Operations Officer. In this position, I some of the work I do is:

  • Developing content for the ACLAD blog based on activities taking place in the areas where ACLAD works, and are available on https://aclad-hq.org/blog/
  • Creating and designing original communication materials -flyers, social media graphics, posters and presentations- to promote ACLAD’s projects, internal and external letters and documents including the annual reports since 2020
  • Ensuring consistent and coherent formatting and editorial accuracy of the revised Chagua Maisha life skills manual, the revised Stepping Stones and Families Matter! manuals for the Stepping Up! project, including but not limited to media, publication and documentation.
  • Maintaining ACLAD social media presence and managing public relations
  • Extensive, in-depth research, literature reviews and media monitoring on issues sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancies and other issues affecting adolescents
  • I’m also a trained enumerator, which means when the need arises, I collect data using different research methodologies such as baseline and endline surveys (including development and revision of the questionnaires), barrier analysis, focus group discussions and in-depth interviews.
  • Evaluating the community projects ACLAD supports such as sponsorship, sustainable livelihoods, Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC), life skills programs such as Chagua Maisha, Stepping Stones, Families Matter! Program.
  • Designing merchandise including but not limited to the t-shirts and certificates shown here by participants of the Stepping Up! project.
